I currently have a Torch 9800 & 32gb Playbook. I have one Blackberry ID/email addy that I use for both devices for making purchases on AppWorld. My question is...if I leave/switch from the Torch to the iPhone will that Blackberry ID continue to function? Is there a workaround?

According to me yes. Your ID is from App world and not from your BB Phone or PB.
Same thing with Android market or iTunes

The BlackBerry ID you use on the PlayBook appears to be unaffected by any non-PlayBook use of it. I've got a 9900 now, with the same BBID, but I didn't have one before. No reason to think that not having a phone again would suddenly make it stop working on the PlayBook.
