Hopefully I'll describe my question clearly and not sound too dumb in the process as I am not much of a techie but here goes:
When connecting my desktop to playbook through its IP address (wirelessly -not using USB ), does this connection and transfer of files go through the Internet or some kind of blue tooth through router (if that's even possible ?

The reason I ask is many times I will be on my desktop and want to retrieve a file on my playbook. When I go through this process I'm assuming it's downloading all files on my playbook? That's alot of data (pics vids music etc). I. Also notice real spikes in my provider on days so wonder if this is the reason?

    Thanks

No. As long as your Playbook and your PC are connected to the same router, either wired or wirelessly, you're not accessing the internet.
