A new BB10 OS release might not be in the cards for the Playbook - but the new Jellybean compatibility under QNX which is expected for the Z10/Q10/A10/Q5?
Any thoughts?

I asked:
QNX Android 4.2 emulation possible on Playbook using OS 10.2 upgrades?
Heh - seems like you didn't read the thread title, OM?
I'm asking the Playbook aficionados if they anticipate a viable, high-quality Android emulation in the near-term, now that the 10.2 OS promises it will deliver such to the Blackberry OS10 series handhelds?
High-quality, viable, promises? Hah! :p
You're drinking the BBRY Kool-aid if you think this will come to PB. The Android runtime runs on top of QNX/BB10; the system libraries are different between PBOS and BB10, so I don't think the runtime will get updated.
Ok please accept my apologies. Mmmmmmmm I have a better solution to the problem though. Whenever I get the urge for an android simulation, I pick up my Samsung 10.1 and it simulates it beautifully. Honestly its perfect every time, we'll for a DROID device that is?
pardon me sir... sad_old_man.
but you wasted your money on thatttttttt? geeeeeeeeee samsung 10.1 its as over hyped and as over prices as apple devices. you know what i call that device? junk and utter waste of money. the only samsung device i have right now which i still use is samsung r220 gsm mobile. and it still works, but.....
i have moved on. i dont go after hype. i do go for discounts, thats why blackberry playbook and also it has nice specs. but normally i go for the cheap ones. not because i am a cheapo or a cheapster, but because i buy 2-3 same type. and since i am into development, my profession demands me to have those many in number, incase i fsck/quack them up.
looks like you have sh!t load of money to throw around on junk like these.
didnt mean to offend you. but these over hyped and over prices ones just shakes up my nerves. the ketchup effect.
thanks!

So, do people who ask others to but an android tab really understand the diff b/w android as an is it self and android app emulation?
Nope.
My answered android as a os is crap until u r a intelligent dev who can fix this lag,fc with some 1.5 GB free ram and other crap.
Y we need android app emulation is just so we get some features that BB couldn't supply.
Playbook os aka qnx is better and smoother than android and can be more good if some crap useless ram eating background process r removed.
That's my opinion.
Do I care about urs? Maybe or maybe not.

can you rephrase this? please!
yes and no, yes because craps can be fixed and i dont know if the developers are intelligent or junksters, but it depends on the developers and their skillset. and secondly many things are never let out. and unless they are made official or leaked or reverse engineered. viz playbook which we are reverse engineering, those flaws may or may not get fixed. i will keep the notion "to man is to error" as the criteria and basing that i can say there are certain compulsions which drives developers come to a point of standstill, be it independent or some OEM/ODM company employee. i was once working in a company and i was forced by the top management to shut up because i knew there is a design flaw. the company used to sell 1U rack mail servers. and they forgot to include UUCP. and i was pissed off and frustrated when i asked them why the UUCP is not implemented. which gives an email like firstname@surname@domainname. but i was asked to shut up and only 6 months later when there were too many questions and blastings from clients who wanted UUCP mail program it was implemented. When i pointed my finger at the flaw i was forced to shut up, reason, it shoots up production cost and not too many knows WTF is UUCP mail program. and when it was implemented, work load tripled. thats incompetency and being uber moron and lack of judgement and vision.
could be also they like to complicate things up. and i am sure they adore it.
this is not an OS war as which OS is better than which OS. question is tuning. Yes even an experienced developer or admin can turn a "rotten sh!t to a a work of art" and an inexperienced ones "splendid work of art to blunder"
is android good. Yes its good. i liked it untill some OEM and ODM and some management fsckup pissed me off and i said and heck with android, and i am sticking with debian and also likewise why i am sticking with debian and not ubuntu? same reason, ubuntu at times is even more fscked up than it should be. so i am sticking to debian, inspite of hatred towards debian's strictness and transparent openness. anything which is not fully open source and GPL compliant is either pushed to contrib or non-free, yes even if the source is there for free. why i love debian, because it gets the industry respect. an OS which stick to quality and is compliant with the FOSS and also transparent and efficient.
and your opion is held with regard and respected.
and do you care or not? its a matter of personal choice and taste! no disregard or disagreement.
thanks!

Running windows with windows apps.->android os
Running Linux with windows apps ->qnx+android app emulation.

emulation mode is a whole different concept. and its beyond scope of explaination it will end up pages after pages. do people care so much? no.
in short. emulation helps your test before you implement it finally. and emulation also helps you understand how it will work in real life. emulation is simulating a process or event which are different in many and any aspect but is expected to run nonetheless by porting the code from one form to another (OS level) and one arch to another, viz mips networking stack for linux kernel in qnx arm 32 bit arch.
am i clear now?
feel free to shoot questions. and i will answer them or try to if i know how to answer;-)
thanks!
