So I've been having problems with my Kobo and Podcast apps where they would just hang on start-up.

Kobo would hang after I seemingly entered the correct username and password and my podcasts app would never actually get passed the green circle screen.

I've just done a security wipe to try and make enough room on my Playbook but now I'm wondering if storage space was in fact the problem. Before doing the wipe, I also tried to update 3 apps from the App World but they failed on installation. No 'insufficient storage space' messages popped up but that could be a factor.

I did a few searches for Kobo and for Podcasts and I only got a few old threads. So I'm hoping that the security wipe will help.

I'll update this post as the installation progresses. I'm currently at the screen where 'additional files are required'. Hopefully the rest of you aren't very familiar with it.. which means that you guys haven't done a bunch of security wipes either.

Nice... just had to do a battery pull on my 9900. It crashed when I was trying to pair it with my playbook to use Bridge.

Sweet... happy to report that the Kobo App and Podcast application works.

I'm guessing I didn't have enough space on my Playbook which caused the crashes/fails to load. It would have been nice to know what the problem with a proper error message though.

    Hopefully this helps someone else.

Glad you got it worked out. The only time I had a problem like that with Kobo was not long after I got my PB. I soon found out that when the cache got loaded some apps start to hang or slow up. As soon as I cleared my cache everything was good. So now I do it once a week and haven't had those issues since.

Not keeping some device space seems to be an issue...

I rented a movie just before the Sherlock Holmes promo and then downloaded the free movie. That was good 4gb of extra space on my 32gb PlayBook, taking it down to 3.9gb of free space.

Nothing would work right after that. Lots of lag, freezes and slow loads. Deleted a few large files (the rented movie - Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1, must see - and a few tv shows) and everything was back to normal (and memory now sitting at 5.5gb).

So, I'd say, don't use all the storage if you want your PlayBook to work properly!

Hrm... I'll take a look at that too.

    Thanks for the tip!
