I'm streaming music from a website. The PlayBook's Standby Time-out is set to 5 mins because that looks like the max. So every 5 mins the device turns off its screen and stops the streaming.

It either needs a Standby Time-out option of "Infinite" or maybe there is another way to achieve this?

    Thanks.
    Bob.

Good point. I've played music from my PB library and it continues to play when it goes dark. Tried streaming through the browser to my fav radio station and same results as you.

Maybe the secret is to play a completely quiet song while streaming via the browser!

    Under Setup/Screen

The Standby Time-out can only be set to 30 sec, 1 Min, 90 sec, 2 Min and 5 Min.

I think I remember the iPhone didn't have a "leave it on forever" initially. Seems to be a thing operating system developers forget about until there is enough noise from consumers.

I agree, this feature does need to be added into the OS. Rather poor for a multimedia device to turn off every 5 minutes when streaming radio.

Does this occurr when using the Slacker Radio app as well? Or put another way, does using an app built for streaming radio override/ignore the Playbooks settings?

Perspective1: Actually the iPhone's Auto-lock=Never will let its display stay on all the time. Even on battery. That's what is needed on the PB. The possibility to chose on-forever for both battery and plugged-in.
