The. 668 update seems to have made noticeable improvements to my PB. After a few days with the update I can say my battery life has improved slightly and the occasional keyboard lag is gone. What say you?

I haven't noticed any improvements with .668. My PlayBook is the same as before the update.

For those that haven't noticed a difference, try the GPS. It locks on MUCH quicker and is very noticeably more accurate with stronger signal strength.

Does it matter how good, bad, or indifferent 668 was? It's gone, RIM pulled it.

Whatever the reason for that pull, and I can't recall any other occasion when RIM has pulled a PB build. The 1.07 build was stable but the first 1.08 build killed WiFi for many... after a storm of posting, RIM released a new 1.08 a few weeks later that fixed WiFi again... but the old 1.08 build wasn't pulled.

Even if a zillion posters vote that 668 made their PB run like a greased weasel, it won't be coming back.

Tho' hopefully whatever build comes next will retain the improvements, if any, in 668.

    Thanks, I'll check it out.

One more thing. I saw in another thread someone mentioned their bridge range improved. I gave it a try and my range seems to have improved as well. I would lose the connection when I was on my porch and my phone was charging. That doesn't happen anymore. Is that possible with a software change?

Typing in some places, not all, seems snappier, browser off and on, my @outlook email no longer has duplicates of every folder, battery life is a little better.

What do you mean it was pulled? I still have it on my PB, and do notice some improvements. Is it simply no longer available? Are terrible things going to happen to those of us who updated (dandruff, poorer gas mileage?)? Is the world really coming to an end?

One thing I have noticed is that email is now staying on the server, when I fired up Outlook on the PC it said I had 2k+ emails in my inbox. Ever since email support was added to the Playbook I never used to get emails on my PC, not sure if it was 668 release or my supplier (Virgin Media).

    I was curious.

There are many subjects on this forum that I couldn't care less about. I choose not to post in those threads.

GONE for the moment - rim removed it and only the prior OS is available.

Amazon Prime Instant Videos are fixed. Back in February, Amazon tweaked their streaming service and some of my favorite show would no longer stream, or would halt 27 seconds into the stream - said I needed to update Flash Player. That Flash update came in 2.0.1.668.

Playlists now play songs in the proper order on the music player. That's one objective improvement that's on the PB of everyone who upgraded. Of course, if you've never put any playlists on your PB along with your music, you wouldn't know.

GPS seems to lock on quicker and more reliably.

"Find my iPhone" app now works on icloud.com website, whereas prior to update, it would just hang indefinitely (ok, I use it to occassionally to track my brother and his family when they drive up to Wisconsin from Texas, so I know how many more hours I have to clean the house . Got to admit, it's a neat tool).

I updated both of my Playbooks with no negatives to mention and noticeable improvements, such as browser speed and battery life. To use a word I read in another post....it seems "peppier".

With all the threads (good and bad) about the .668 update, this poll makes perfect sense. Thanks OP

This plus playlist improvements and better gps would cover it for me.

The biggest change I've noticed is that the bridge seems much more stable. Previously I would have several times where I would have to re-enter my password several times, or I would get the spinning circle for an extended time and often it would then lock out, and sometimes it would get to the point of having to delete and re-bridge. Since .668 I have not had any of these problems. Is it a fluke or coincidence? Time will tell. But for now this had improved one of my favorite features of the PB!!
