Might try opening up you WiFi with no security... just till you get the PlayBook connected.

Do you have a router with a WPS button?

Are there any other networks in your area.. that other devices see? Does your PlayBook see anything?

Might try reloading the OS again.

Can you make your phone into a wifi hotspot? If so see if your Playbook can connect to the hotspot.

If you have a BB10 device, you can pair the PlayBook with Bridge via Bluetooth and surprisingly it will use whatever WIFI network the BB10 device is connected to.

What kind of router do you have? Do you have two wifi networks? (2.4 ghz and 5 ghz). PBs don't play that well w/ 5 ghz, so try to connect to the lower frequency option.

OK. I suspect either something's up with your router or the PB doesn't like it. Can you try to get on a WiFi network elsewhere (family/friend's place or a coffee shop) and activate there?

If you cannot access the Internet after Wi-Fi is connected
Check your Wi-Fi status, or reset the settings to fix the issue.
Make sure the Wi-Fi signal is of sufficient strength
Check if the Wi-Fi connection is overloading
