I have a Lumix (Panasonic) DMC-ZS7 digital camera.
I can record videos in "Motion JPEG" or "AVCHD Lite".
I have only recorded in Motion JPEG format which, when downloaded to my laptop, are .MOV files with Video Codec: IBM Motion JPEG and Audio Codec: PCM.
When I transfer the videos to my Playbook, I get audio but no video?
Here are my questions and I sure hope someone with the know-how can help me out:
    1) Should I record in Motion JPEG or AVCHD Lite?
    2) Assuming I have no choice but to convert these videos so they will play properly on my Playbook, what is the best format to convert them to? I'm using AVS Video Converter and I can choose different formats and different codecs for audio and video.
If more information is needed, I'll be happy to supply it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Here's what I've grabbed including a link to the pdf file. There may be a newer pdf or a change in some specs

Here is the full list of media formats
    File Formats (aka- ‘containters’)
    VIDEO
    3GP, 3GP2, M4A, M4V, MOV, MP4, MPEG-4, AVI*, ASF, WMV, F4V
(*I need to confirm this but I think there are special rules for AVI)
    AUDIO
    MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV
    CODECs
    VIDEO
    H.264, MPEG-4, Xvid, VP6, Sorenson Spark
    AUDIO
MP3, AAC, PCM, Windows Media Audio (9, 10, and Lossless)

This is all I have right now. I’ll try to get some real world results ASAP. If you have more info, please feel free to chime in. I hope this helps someone.

I guess you could experiment on the camera with the alternative formats and see how that goes.

Some of my canon's do the same thing - audio but no video.

i think you'd better convert the .mov files to playbook liked format, such as h.264 mp4, for the best format for playbook, the answer maybe different for different people, to meed your needs is the best

I have a similar issue with my point & shoot. Converting them to AAC (h264) did the trick for me. My camera is older and only captures VGA resolution so I can view both on my phone and PB using the Mac app called iSquint.

Works perfect. If its HD, handbrake using the iPad profile does just fine.
