- They release new devices with better hardware all the time. Why would the playbook be any different?

But hopefully RIMS pattern of dropping/lessening support or simply all out forgetting they even released a product - as often occurs with their phones - will not happen with the Playbook. I am all for new hardware/updates, etc, but considering how "unfinished" or perhaps better stated as "unpolished" the current Playbook feels, I'm not that enthusiastic about this rumor.05-31-11 08:33 PMLike 0
- I see what you're getting at. There's no way rim would leave current owners hanging in the wind. I'll bet the current model gets updates for 24 months. The hardware technically would be good for years or use considering how powerful it is.

- Wow. How easily some people forget the Storm/Storm 2 disaster. RIM hasn't, which is why the Storm 3 has been renamed the Volt. You can bet that the next PlayBook will be better than the existing one by more than just a bigger screen and 4G radio. I just hope the existing PlayBook receives enough attention between now and the release of the PlayBook 2 to prevent most people from feeling like they just got whacked with the Storm stick.06-01-11 06:07 AMLike 0

- The only reason it wouldn't be possible is if they decided not to allow connecting to BES over wifi.06-01-11 04:28 PMLike 0
- The thing I love most about the PB is the size. The ipad now feels big and clunky compared to being able to actually type without stretching my thumbs too far... lol.
Now for the real news... Nvidia's new quad core tegra tablet/phone cpu coming out in September. Don't have a link handy, but I found it in the Geek section of Fark (dot) com.
That processor will rape and pillage. 4 x 1.5ghz... wow.
But my Playbook I has become irreplaceable in my business.
Oh, did I mention how much the cameras rock06-01-11 04:36 PMLike 0 -
It is both. Bes is all software tool, hiwever for bes to work a device needs to have its own pin, which playbook has. So its all good.06-01-11 06:06 PMLike 0 - Wow. - I'll be honest, a 10" would be a more practical size for me if I were to use one for business. It goes in the briefcase when traveling, so not a big issue if it will fit in a pocket. With what I usually have on my screen of a business machine, real estate is key, so that extra screen space is valuable to me. Will I wait? Don't know at this time, but I just might...06-02-11 08:41 AMLike 0
- Just because RIM wants to put out a 10 inch playbook to appeal to more people doesn't mean all those that love and prefer the 7 inch need to get so defensive and act as if RIM is abandoning them. The fact of the matter is that everyone doesn't want a 7 inch tablet. Sure, it works for a lot of people. The size and portability is perfect. But for others they prefer a larger size depending on their uses. I have nothing against 7 inch tabs but I wouldn't but one because I prefer the larger screen for what I do. And I'm sure there are many people who feel the same. Don't take RIM making a 10 inch tab as a slight against the 7 inch. Just take it as them trying to appeal to more users..... you know, those that buy iPads and love the larger screen size.06-02-11 09:06 AMLike 0
