I believe this is where hardware matters comes in (as opposed to others claiming that hardware doesn't matter)... I also experiencing in some sites, specifically sites streaming HD, that my PB is constantly stopping and buffering... while my laptop (i7) and other tablet (having a quad-core CPU & more RAMs) stream it easily... the same site, the same movie, connected with the same router - they should have the same output, right?... unless, there are other factors to be considered such as the OS, the speed & number of the processor and the RAM... and on that matter, like OS, hardware matters... a lot...

When's the last time that you rebooted?
What's the best procedure for rebooting? I usually do it once a week. But ever since I noticed the memory issue I reboot before any browser using. I usually use the "restart" option in the battery icon HUD in top right corner

Just streamed man with the iron fist from movie2k. Still had Crackberry open as well. Streaming no problem on Playbook.

And, as reported above, thanks to BB10, it is probably only a matter of time before the PlayBook will have NetFlix and Hulu Plus apps.
And that "matter of time" is most likely "later this year"... according to Alec Saunders...

I think clearing the cache is in order here. Open Browser, swipe down for Browser Settings, goto Privacy and security and then clear cache.
I do this about everyday. Anyone have a clue if there's a "Best channel" for my linksys E3000 router? Although my PC is wireless as well so I'm not sure if channels are important to worry about

I recommend memory eater for the playbook. Instead of restarting tbe pb it will give you all your RAM back which is usually around 610 mb after restarting the pb.

I, too, regularly stream on my PB, especially from Amazon Instant Video and don't have any issues.

I can say I have issues streaming as well. somedays it sucks, other days its great. I'm sure my pb could use a wipe but I don't want to lose my saved game data.
wouldn't a manual backup save them??? just make sure to check ALL the boxes to do a complete backup,,, & plan on leaving it there for a while,,, i think my last one was 10 or 12 gigs & it took about 45 mins or more...

I started deleting apps as well. I even deleted crackberry app because I thought it may have been running the memory low. Besides that I don't know of any apps that could be killing the playbook. I'm simply tired of the checkerboard screen. I thought it was a thing of the past but apparently not. Can you guys post your Ram #'s? I just wanna compare and see if my 350 MB is normal
    mine has about 625MB w/ nothing running,,, i've had 4 games & 1 webpage running & had 80MB left,,, 1 game running uses 100MB +/-...

My pc streams right up with no issues. The sites I use are flick peek and movies2K.com. Maybe one of you could try it and see if maybe its just the sites. I prefer playbook over PC because I can use my turtle beach headset with playbook.
Is your PC also using only WiFi like the PlayBook? WiFi connections can be horridly inconsistent in bandwidth. For example you might have a lot of neighbors with APs that are interfering, etc. Not to mention some consumer level access points (routers with APs in them) are just plan bad. Just a thought.

if you wanna do a "hard reset", which is like a battery pull, hold vol+/power button for a 5 seconds after power options window closes,,, release power/vol+,,, playbook should reboot on it's own,,, you'll know if red light comes on without you doing anything more,,, i do it a couple times a week,,, some people do it less often...

I use this at home because I need a reliable hardware VPN endpoint for work. But it is very very solid all around.

youtube has never been a problem for me either. I watch tv shows on projectfree.tv (don't say pirate I won't listen) and the sites they link to do not stream as well on pb as they do on desktop. work for about 3 mins and the buffer infinately.
only way to fix is to refresh and seek to the part you were before.

annoying. I figure its the sites because all pb browsers behave the same. sb+ will freeze instead of buffer.

that is my problem with streaming. just a minor annoyance though since I use my pb for so much more.

    depends on the WIFI connecting
when I want to stream i usually reboot before and have no other program running

    In my gym:
Al Jazeerah live TV works well, CNN, FOX, MSNBC does a lot of spooling and stop
I watch some euroland tv station, work pretty well by they broadcast on 480p or less
U tube worl mostly until 480p, no 720

Yahoo webcast work pretty well and I hook it up to my large TV at home, I have a 20 mb internet connection there
Airport lounges, airport and hotel lobbies you can forget, too many people use WIFI, so do inside airplanes, they are only good for emailing and web browsing
