Tried it on both of my PlayBooks no sound or picture redid everything a dozen times on each
One...ok must be the brand new cable I just bought? Tried it on my acer 810 for the he'll of it
And it works perfectly ? Any theories for this....lol

It would be helpful if you mentioned what cable and which connection port, USB or MIDI you are using.

Oooops! Hdmi to micro Hdmi Sony tv 2yrs old, has 3 Hdmi inputs 40 inch and my 2 PlayBooks it did
Come in grainy for about a second then that was it....tried everything but welding it to the port no luck

once in a blue moon the PB doesn't like certain mini HDMI cables, but it should be plug N' play like any other device...try getting another cable perhaps? I know for a fact the hipstreet brand works very good and you can find them almost anywhere... good luck

And you've gone into the PB under HDMI and toggled everything in the correct position.
I'm not sure what you've read to troubleshoot the issue.
I travel with my PB and have stayed at the smallest Inn's with televisions that are really old to 5 star New York hotels and have never run into an HDMI picture or sound issue.
Not saying you don't have a issue but toggle the settings a few time on the PB under the HDMI tab.
