Playbook Wifi Connection Rate Poll
Having tested the Playbook with multiple wireless access points, it has not established a full G nor a full N connection.
This not only bottlenecks internet access for some but the transfer of files between internal network devices.
So, if you have established a wireless connection rate, with the PB, that is not listed on the poll, please post a screenshot.
Thx all.
Edit: Solution for wireless G found by another Crackberry user in a different thread: ensure basic connection rate value is set to All on your router configuration. No solution for wireless N using same method.
wi-fi information on PlayBook
I've tried multiple settings on my dual band Cisco/Dlink E3000 router:
Usually the Wi-Fi information shows 11mbps connection speed on G
Sometimes it shows 24mbps on A
I have been unable to ever get it to show N, even when setting both 2.4 and 5 channels on the router to N Only. Looks like the PlayBook negotiates back to G, or is displaying information incorrectly.
Whenever I have the 24mbps A connection, Speedtest.net results are terrible. Whenever I have 11mbps on G, Speedtest.net shows my typical download rate of 10-15mbps, upload of around 1.5 to 2 mbps.
I'm not sure if the PlayBook Wifi Information means very much for me, except to never set the router to use "A".
