- Never bought anything from the Video Store on the PlayBook... don't really remember it being part of the BlackBerry World App. Wasn't it just a Canadian thing?
But I would think if they were closing it because the PlayBook isn't being supported anymore, then they would send out a notice and close the store. Might just be the number changed, maybe try BlackBerry general support.04-23-14 10:48 AMLike 0 -

- Just called phone support (see number below) and they said no agents to assist and no waiting queue.
Tried also to hit the link on their email and nothing came up.
They charged me for True Grit but playbook says no license to download.
I didn't try downloading but the Site seems normal to me.

- I tried buying a movie at full price about a week ago and have the same problem as the OP. Rovi was quick to send out a receipt with a phone number and web link. As mentioned above, calling the phone number just gets you a message saying "no agents available" and I've been trying to for 6 days now. The web link was, of course, broken from the beginning. The rovicorp.com website doesn't even list Blackberry as a customer which makes me think they're not putting much effort into it anymore. I've called Blackberry several times but they're quick to distance themselves from the PlayBook and from what they consider a "third party vendor". Bottom line is that I won't be buying anymore movies from them unless it's something for 99 cents and I'm willing to risk it. I'm going to get this one cancelled at the credit card but the whole thing is a total drag. Buyers beware.05-12-14 11:40 PMLike 0

- True Grit is a known no-go with the Video Store. What movie were you downloading? Did you get a license server connection error? If so, just keep trying. Either they are servicing their servers or they may get overloaded. Unfortunately, since there is no way to contact them, they probably don't know about the True Grit issue or even the license server performance.
True Grit has not worked since at least December. As I mentioned on another thread, I have tried unsuccessfully to purchase it several times, the last being about four to six weeks ago. Got refunded. However, the customer service telephone line no longer offers service so the only way to not lose your money is to stop payment through your credit card for any purchase that does not download properly.
Rovi knows about the problem with True Grit and other issues. I complained about it since December and the customer service representative acknowledged they were aware of the problem. Yet, they continued to offer the title for sale at subsequent times, and each time, downloads failed. The last time I spoke to them about it, I asked what they could do for me, for all the previous inconvenience for my failed purchases of True Grit, hoping they would offer some sort of customer goodwill gesture, such as a discount for a movie of my choice. I did not suggest the discount, but the representative said he felt I was entitled to something for my trouble and was forwarding my complaint to a supervisor who would contact me by email as to what they would do. I have not heard a thing. It has been several weeks.
I say let's just enjoy the 99 cent sales while they last.05-14-14 03:02 PMLike 0
