    Hi,

I have a Playbook that has been sitting around being an ornament for a few months, due to it bricking when I stupidly let it run dead flat. It was so flat I couldn't even get the red light to come on when I plugged in the charger or PC via micro USB.

Months later, I decided to pass it on to a friend if I could get it working, so I imported a Rapid Charger from the US (no one sells them locally), and lo and behold, it charges it up a treat, and the previously bricked PB is now booting up a peach.

The PB was so flat it did a total factory reset, so I'm currently running through the process of setting it back up. It gets to the point where you enter your BBID, and as soon as I hit Submit, from either the keyboard modal or the screen itself, it just sits there saying "Signing in to Blackberry ID" and progresses no further.

    Diagnostics :
    1) The connection to the router is fine, I've put the PB almost at point blank to the router and it makes no difference. I've also tried it on another router to no avail.
    2) I can log into the BBID using the Blackberry ID website no problems, so it's not an issue with the username or password.
    3) I've tried connecting it to a different wireless network, no difference.
    4) I've searched on the net and found a post that had someone else with similar problem which resolved by pressing a different 'Submit' button. Neither button works for me, same problem replicates either way.

So in essence I've got a Playbook that has, at long last, Lazarus'ed itself out of its bricked state thanks to a Rapid Charger, and of all the things stopping me from using it again, its the BBID login section of the Setup... :/

    Any suggestions?

I would try again in a few hours and then again hours later just in case it is the Rim servers acting up.

If that fails, you can try reinstalling the OS again or even try creating a new bbid. Failing that call rim

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"
