A lot has been said in these forums over the years ranging from praise to frustration with the device we all know as the BlackBerry PlayBook. For some the let downs from no BB10 to no recent significant updates have been too much and they have moved on! I think the biggest thing is seeing a device with so much potential being left to slowly 'fade away'. We've seen promises and petitions come and go. Even so, after all this some, probably most, off Blackberrys most loyal still like the setup of using the PlayBook over ( the still innovative) BlackBerry Bridge, the speakers, the multimedia, the productivity stuff....and off course the sideloads! Setup correctly the PlayBook is still a great companion for your BlackBerry Smartphone.

So....after all this time, after the joy and the pain...would you buy a PlayBook 2 ?

I would, if it was done right. That doesn't mean I think BlackBerry should do it though lol. It's a terrible idea and now is not the right time.

If they make one it will not be called PlayBook. It will be innovative and distance itself far from PlayBook

They could just make it as an addition to the old playbook. Just like Sega did with the 32x and the Sega CD 2. It'll work out great lol. Think of the possibilities... you know you'd buy it.

I will buy a BlackBerry tablet when one hits the market. Despite the shortcomings of the PlayBook, and what it has ran into, I believe BlackBerry knows how to make a really great one, from how innovative they were. This time around though, there will not be too many workarounds, or app issues, since we know BlackBerry is not going away.

I would like to see a BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 on a Playbook and I hope they gone work more with Samsung and Amazone.

Samsung could bring out a tablet and Phone with BlackBerry QNX Mobile OS 1.3.1 for example that runs BlackBerry OS and also android runtime. Samsung could bring it the best OS with Android support , better is also to hook up with HTC,SONY and LG .

Amazone could do the same thing tot protect there market and also there hardware.

I wait till the spring or else I going to buy another android tablet. My wife used BlackBerry for at least 9 years but when the playbook was slow and outdated she bought a windows tablet and after that a windows smartphone. My brother did the same and bought a android tablet and in december he dropped his z10 for a Sony Z2. My daughter also swapped from her Playbook to android tablet and also get rid of her bold and bought a Android smartphone (she almost get the Z30).
I still have a playbook but it's outdated big time and 'm the only one using a BlackBerry now and love my Passport but I need to buy a new tablet and was really waiting till Barcalona to see what the roadmap would be. It's sad and still doesn't understand they could not update the playbook with a new browser and new android runtime to get users going.

I don't think the time will be ever right in the near future as phones can now do everything a tablet can do.

    So...an Android tablet then.

With the BlackBerry Experience Suite and Blend there won't really be any need at all for a BlackBerry 10 tablet.

BlackBerry are engineering their way back in to the tablet world with software not hardware.

Maybe maybe BlackBerry must devolp a standalone os which you can install on a specific samsung tablet like the tab s 8.4 and s 10.1 that you can install easily with a pc or mac computer. The could sell the software for 50 dollar. They could protect the software using the tablet imei number and you can chance your licence 3 times to a new imei number.

John Chen stated if he was to release a Tablet he would call it PlayBook 2 and ensure it was highly Innovative and Iconic.

My current PBs have served my needs well and still doing so. My company still has 7 PBs in use as well and have been happy with them for the purposes they've been used for with Bridge being a huge asset. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another BB tablet if I thought it would work for me and wasn't larger than an 8".

I'm currently using a Z30 for personal use and while the screen is nice, I still prefer a 7 to 9" screen for many things.
