    Download the BB Bridge @
    BlackBerry Bridge v1.0.6.5 (OS6)

Take a trip to your local store with a demo unit, pair it up and give it a try. I'd say that would be your best bet, unless someone else with the same experience comes along and tells their story.

If you try it, make sure to update so it can go in the books for the next folks.

I hope it works out for you!

I have a BB Curve 8530 through Boost that I bridged to a Playbook I used to own. It worked....sometimes. I don't know if the issue is with Boost, the Bridge, or my phone.

Bridge and tether are two different things, Bridge brings up the emails comtacts etc from your phone ..a copycat if you will but bridging does not give you internet.you need to tether for that.I also would like to know if you can tether a boost phone to playbook.i know boost wont allow tethering to a laptop you have to purchase a separate app for that so im guessing you probably cannot tether a boost Blackberry but id really like for someone to confirm this.

I will clarify this matter as that Boost representative was confused or did not understand what you were asking.

    I. BlackBerry Bridge

    1. Blackberry Bridge is not network related. You can live in Mars, have absolutely no service with no company (obviously) and you will be able to use BlackBerry bridge.

    2. In BlackBerry Bridge you can do different things like use your phone as a remote keyboard & mouse; Access your phone's BlackBerry apps like BBM, Messaging, Calendar, Memo Pad, Contacts, etc.; Access your BlackBerry phone files on your Playbook and Opening files on the Playbook from the phone. And finally what we're talking here, tether internet from your phone to the Playbook.

    3. BlackBerry Bridge uses your Bluetooth connection to bridge both devices.

II. Tethering to Playbook from a Blackberry Device

    1. Tethering is network related. You need a service provider which can provide you or allow that type of service on your BlackBerry phone so THEN you can tether the internet from your phone to your Playbook through BlackBerry Bridge.

    III.

BlackBerry Bridge should not be confused with tethering as they are two separate things.

Not entirely correct Douken. You CAN use Bridge to route traffic from your PlayBook through your device, much the same as tethering. SOME carriers charge for this as tethering, others do not. You can go to RROYY - APPLICATIONS to download a Bridge version that should be carrier independent and allow you to use Bridge Browser/internet service. (This at least works on AT&T, not sure about BOOST)

Bridge will work almost always with the Style on Boost, however, they will throttle your data if you use it a lot...

Yes - you can bridge your Playbook to your Style and access internet via it on Boost Mobile. I did try it last year in Miami Beach and it worked. Unfortunately - "sometimes", not very reliable but useful. Certainly for me it was the cheapest way to have prepaid internet, as I am in US for very short periods of time.

Again BB-bridge works regardless of what the network allows, while tethering is dependent on the network allowing it. For quite a few of the networks is a matter of additional charge for tethering. Boostmobile however does not allow tethering in general. With BBry bridge the Palybook gets hidden behind the bridge and the network sees only the BB-Style. In other to tether, the device effectively forms a tunnel to the network and is easily recognisable.
