This has been stated many times. There is no new update for the playbook. The last update was several months ago. The occasional update that sometimes appears is only to restore default deleted apps or whatever. Its a nothing sort of thing. The servers went down and are now back up. That is all that happened.

Why are so many people wanting a 3 year old unsupported tablet? If you can get it cheap enough and don't expect a whole lot out of it, go for it. Other there are plenty of cheap alternatives that are much better than the pb.

Drawing comparisons, my 9800 torch is eol if you want to put it like that. No updates, not making or selling anymore. Tomorrow I'll be taking out my sim from my z10 and putting it in there to go on a working trip.
Better battery life, does pretty much what my z10 does and connects better with my playbook and a bit easier on the eyes for long winded email.
Together they make a great team and my playbook with a bit of sideloading does everything I need from a tablet although I find apps aren't an issue to me. I just don't see the point of many of the new fads, Instagram, snap chat etc.
Would I buy a playbook cheap knowing it's limitations, already have and got a second one.
Would I consider the PlayBook if I was looking for full on experience like the above mentioned apps etc, definitely not. Tablets are so cheap these days often even given away with phones. If you think that you will end up wishing you never got it then save yourself some hassle and don't.
When I think I paid �50 for my second hand one I often think for another 40 I probably could have got a miles better one and I don't expect much of it and like it.

They will provide patches, hopefully they will bring it back to life. It is still an amazing tablet even at three years old. The only one that I know that compare for durability is the IPad 2.

Yesterday's update to OS 2.1.0.1917 has improved Native Browser speed, the overall OS appears running smoother, by reports in so far. A good update.

I have not noticed any difference, but the new OS update is required for any app purchases on BlackBerry World after April 3rd.

It says the latest version of BB World is only available as an OS Software Update.

When I installed the OS update yesterday, it mentioned that an update to BB World was included, so you can hopefully just ignore that message if you have already updated the OS
