    Hello guys,

    I have been asking RIM to solve this issue all PlayBook owners in Qatar are facing. A ****** slow speed.

    Please CrackBerryKevin help us get our voices to RIM!

    I am on an ADSL
    On any other site it downloads on 129kb/s which means1GB = 3 hours

    My sources tell me Qatar only has a handfull of hosts, and over a quarter million users. You all use Qtel right, and if so, you all share the same proxy servers. Couple that with government "censorship", I don't see it as a Playbook hardware/software issue, but a government censor/blocking issue.

    If you are trying to say by anyway that Qtel is blocking RIM servers then No. None here in Qatar doesn't own a BlackBerry, all versions of PlayBooks are sold here too.

    It was fine till the end of november

    And yes only Qtel is providing ADSL. But I contacted Qtel more thanonce and they said its RIM issue, their servers overloaded and I agree because all other sites are so fast!

    Are you saying the connection on the PlayBook is slow in general or just connections to Rim services, such as Appworld and Software update?

    If the PlayBook is on wifi and your internet is slow for everything, it is either your wifi router or your internet provider.

    Unfortunately, everything is fast but RIM Servers and AppWorld

    Most every Z10 that came out in Qatar was sold and out of stock immediately.. but there have been some annoying issues with it so far and mainly as op says the service can be quite slow, bbm video call, / voice call barely works or only sometimes due to service or calling and no answer or notification from it. The other thing is.. why is the Internet now suddenly censored on it here? No other blackberrys here in Qatar have censored internet only the Z10. I don't get it. Also we don't even have the update yet

    The most annoying thing is Qtel are regularly clueless and their English communication is bad so it's almost impossible to get a real answer from them about anything. Vodafone is the other service provider here but it's well known that their signal service is very bad. It's a frustrating scenario being here having this because there is like no customer service or customer care because they don't have to compete as they r the only isp. Hopefully Vodafone will have that Internet service set up in the next few years and give them some competition to step their game up.

    1. We in Qatar are not getting the full speeds over H+, the current speeds are not enough for a high quality BBM Video call but enough for a BBM Voice call
    2. If your Home broadband is not fiber optic, nearly no way BBM Video will work well. You need Fiber Optics at least 10 MBPS
    3. Z10 doesn't use BIS that's why all censored websites are censored on the Z10 too. I would see no reason you want to access the censored websites as they are either piracy or pornography.
    4. Contact care.qa@vodafone.com they got great knowledge with the Z10. Also Vodafone Customer care specially those on 122(Exclusive to Postpaid) know the Z10 well.
