    Hey everyone,

Just curious if any one else has experienced this and if you have suggestions. My playbook was off and I had plugged it in to recharge it over night. I noticed it turned on when I plugged it in ( the screen was on but was blank with no image, I assumed it would boot up and the home screen would load). However, I woke up in the morning to find it in the same state (screen backlight on but no image). Not normal.

I restarted the playbook by a hard restart. When the playbook splash screen popped up I noticed immediately that the screen appeared burned like when you leave a tube computer monitor on for a long time (vertical lines throughout the screen).

Has anyone else had this problem ? Will blackberry repair this? Can I send it to them directly? I wish it didn't happen. I love my playbook. Just got the Z10 too and it is awesome.

Mine still runs like a champ. I would contact BB and see if it is still under warranty. If not still give them a shot at repairing it. Replacing it is not that expensive if it comes down to it.

Does not sound normal. You might try

To fix an issue, try these in order:

Restart using the Battery Icon and press Restart

Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds. Then leave it for 20-30 seconds and see if it restarts.

    To REBOOT:
Press and HOLD all three keys for about 10 - 20 seconds: PowerOn, VolUp and VolDown. Start with the PowerButton. Keep holding past the 3-choice options screen. If you hear a shutter type sound, you've taken a Screen Shot and probably missed the PowerButton.

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

Mine does the same thing when charging (screens lights up with no image) while turned off, previous playbook did too. Because I'm afraid the screen will be damaged, I always charge it while in sleep mode, never while off.

It happens to my other PlayBooks a couple of times... this is probably happen when the PlayBook is totally not "off" and the charger was immediately connected... but when this happen, I just simply turn on the PB and restart it again... and this gray line thing disappear...
