I had a 16gb Playbook like 2 weeks ago, with the new .668 software. I had to take it back, then today I got the new 64gb one, but the .668 software aint there. So I cannot restore the files I had on the old OS. What should I do?

Nothing. It is rim
Wrong. Load the beta 2.1 and restore your backup.
it is not official release
So what? It solves the issue and he won't miss on any functionality.
Then why not everyone or Rim upgrade to beta
Because most of the ppl are ok with the OS they have, or they just are affraid to mess with the one they have.
And for RIM, its not finished, so they don't release it...
Sent from a old but beautiful BB 8520 or a new and shinny PB 2.0
Keep in mind though, that a Beta for the PlayBook is not a leak. RIM releases the betas for devs to try their apps and for advanced users to report on bugs.
.840 is actually a solid version, compared to all other betas we had. most people wouldn't even know it is a beta.
I had the same problem and the upgrade to 2.1 and restore of the backup has fixed everything. It was a suggestion from Diegonei.
Besides that, 2.1 works flawless.
;)
You can download .668 bar file at this link
http://cdn.fs.sl.blackberry.com/fs/q...873.signed.bar
and then use dingleberry to update your PlayBook.
It's fine, I'll just start afresh lol, I don't wanna update to a beta, I'd rather wait for an official os release.
Well, you can always do as kretch suggested...
Sorry RIM left you hanging like that. I'm with you and am not comfortable using the dev beta either. To those that are, more power to you. If you decide to use it be sure to read the threads about issues some are having with it because there are some. Hopefully there will be an update that addresses the botched release of. 668....I'm sure it's coming soon.....
They released and pulled, they should provide a tool to restore. I had similar issue. It is all pretending.well,I guess they only care almighty bb 10
It is patently absurd that rim still has not addressed the issue. They do act as if everything was perfect and that nothing out of sorts occurred. When in fact they released an OS with problems and screwed up quite a number of peoples' pb's. There is no excuse for such poor corporate operations.
