Slides still don't work if you use RIM's quaters since right now we are in Q4 2011, so the Playbook will come out Q1 2012, and Q1 2011, if it comes out in March
I am looking forward to this device. I really like my ipad but it is too big to always carry around. Like everyone i hope RIM continues to build on the good reviews and delivers us a great great product.

NOT RIM's style. They like the "we won't defend ourselves, we will just let the bloggers and reviewers slaughter us and take the corresponding hit to sales and PR ."
Surely a formula for success.... Right?

that's not entirely true. RIM defended themselves re the battery-life rumors.

Actually I will have to give you that one. It was a surprise to me when it occurred because it wasn't rim's general habit. In fact, you often hear spokespeople bleating the line "RIM doesn't respond to rumors or comments on blah-blah-blah"... Which is one of the reasons they have fallen so far in terms of status. Big companies have a PR department for a reason .
I think maybe that is why they were quick to respond to the battery life debacle... A lot is riding on the playbook hitting the public with a huge "WOW!" factor and restoring some trust and goodwill. The possible missed release date was resulting in RIM taking a good wacking. You can only disappoint and fall short so many times...

The Super Bowl would be a great place to start eh... )
It's almost a no brainier! Football playbook, BlackBerry Playbook, they GOT to do something with THAT!!!!!!!!
EDIT: Not nearly the audience, but they have mega deals with the NHL too, so we might see some stuff at the NHL All Star game too, and the Canadian Winter Classic.

Well its running $3 million for a 30 second spot during the Super Bowl this year... Rather expensive but worth it... You'd definitely know they're serious about it.
