I have both typed of rapid chargers, my preference is the stand.

My parents both have PB's (gifts from me)
My mom prefers the stand, my dad the other one. Both of them like the rapid chargers over the standard charger...what's not to like?

Haha. You're going to get a lot of different responses. I find it hard to position the PB on the stand. Also, it has more of a history of the pins messing up (search the forum). I don't know of any cases that work with it. Because of that, I hardly ever use mine. The travel rapid charger is my fav. It just snaps on. I suppose if you want to watch a movie and charge at the same time and need a stand, go for it. There was a good price on Amazon a couple of days ago for both:

The Rapid Travel Charger which also uses the pogo pins is preferable to many because it allows use of the HDMI and USB ports while charging and is thought to be more durable. The Blurex case and others of similar design can be left on the Playbook while charging in the stand but you probably will have to loosen two clips at the bottom.

Yeah, I've got an Otterbox case on my PB. Really hard to get off. You have to have the cord with the magnetic head facing to the left for good contact. I can snap it on in the dark!

The stand rocks. I use a Blurex case, so i don't have to remove it to charge up my PlayBook. I have a charging stand at home (next to my bed) and one sitting on my desk at work. Get one and you won't regret it!

I've got a couple of TRAVEL rapid chargers. I guess they are more versatile as the case does not have to be removed and it is easier to dicker with the attachment's alignment. I also have an otterbox and with wire left, it fits and actually, right now I've got my pb hooked up to hdmi and the travel rapid connected.

I also have a stand that can hold the pb if I do want it propped up. I have attached a picture of the stand with the travel rapid charger wire coming off. The pb is "backward" because I was shooting a timelapse video of my solar install happening and the pb was on the roof of my garage. It needed power since the camera was running for 4 hours during the shoot. This stand allows the angle to be modified.

Absolutely, yes.

I also have 2 - one for home and one for work. No cables to fiddle around with, and it charges so much faster. Well worth purchasing.

I'm like some of the people here, I purchased 2 of the rapid chargers.
One for home and one for work... and I think they are great.
Since they are a quick snap - you are not going to mess up the USB input connector (as they can break if input incorrectly).

I use the Rapid Charger with the same magnetic connector, because the charging stand doesn't fit the Playbook with a case.

I got mine for $24.95 Local pickup from Toronto, I think they have shipping option for $4.99 as well.
