So, technically, if i had a PB and was outside North America the OTA updates would still come through?

If you bring up Bing maps, it will try to locate with GPS (blue circle at top right will flash). You need to be outside or near a window so it can get a view of the satellites. Then bring up Poynt and it will have your location (worked for me last night on the original 1690)

Seems some are getting updates a day or so earlier than others. 1710 just hit today for me and others were talking about it yesterday...

I updated to the 1710 I think around 2 or 3 am on the 21st so it seems to be a staggered release

    Sadly true...

But you can't say RIM isn't also flooring it on these updates, they've been doing a great job.

They've always been in the OS, they are just links, not native apps.

I wish we could create more of those via Browser bookmarks like we can on OS6. It's one of those features I use frequently. It'd be great to bookmark the mobile Google Reader site, for example.

Its probably because you deleted some apps that came on 1710.

Haven't seen it either yet, but isn't it great to have them come from RIM rather than wait for your phone company to decide to release them?
