No the PlayBook isn't dead.... but neither did it every make it to the status of a living Tablet. It has many uses and can be very useful.

That said the OP's setup in a car looks cool. But I've used the PlayBook with a number of mapping applications (online and cached). The GPS is slow and weak..... I don't trust it for any purpose.
We'll agree to disagree on this one. On WiFi, I find the GPS to work. You just gotta make sure you have WiFi as you move around town (and on this, the Z10 really boosted the PB up. But then again, I can save battery juice by just using the Z10, I suppose).

and the best thing is you can keep it mounted there and no one will ever want to smash your windows in to steal it
    that's why it's removable

So now you've turned a safety device into a projectile-launching danger zone? Have you ever seen how an airbag actually works? Not the movie ones where there's a big cushiony pillow stopping you and holding your head up. It's a violent explosion with a huge amount of force. Where do you think the shards of glass, silicon and battery are going to end up? Why not just tape the pin of your hand grenades to the dash too?

    Yeah...

Not to kill the enthusiasm of his post, but going to have to agree. Don't F with airbags.

Nice. Stupid question here but I have an older truck, 2003. How could I get the music on my PB to come through my stereo? I don't have a jack to plug into.

Cd, cassette(hardly used!) and amfm. It is a nice system actually. I have a rocket fish cord I plug it in for other amps but would be awesome for the RAM! Thanks.

If you have a double DIN radio, replace it with a newer radio that has Bluetooth audio. Pair the PB with the radio and stream your music with no cords. I do this with my Bold 9900 and the Kenwood radio I just put in the car. With a 32GB memory card it's also my ipod at work.

I really enjoyed my 9930 too. Had the Style and if it had more power and OS 7 would've been great. Didn't care for the Curves in between. Like the 8530 and the 9330.
