I think this is pretty good deal given that this is 32GB Playbook LTE.

I gotta say that I really do not understand the appeal of a LTE playbook. I have a 16 and I feel that it is plenty snappy w/ wifi. I wouldn't be able to justify the added monthly expense. Thanks for the post though.

What's the cost of the plan, $99.00 plus?

I got 32gb LTE playbook in Dec 2012 for 99.00.

It's awesome I can browse where ever Rogers is and on wifi.

Plan only cost on a plan around17.00 per month, but my over all plan only cost me 4.00 more a month and this is with a 5gb shared data plan included.

That's the advantage of the LTE model is mobility without tethering and or hot spot connection which can be slow by the way, but with mobility of the LTE model you have another sim so it's all independent like a phone is.

I don't need bridge, but would be nice just for texting and hope BlackBerry brings a phone app to the playbook ASAP for us to be able to use it as a mobile phone device.

I don't understand how these contracts work. Please can someone explain to me? You pay 99 dollar annually for 3 years and what?

You pay 99 bucks then you get a data plan for it. They vary in prices depending on how much data you need. You pay the 99 once.

Ah, in my country, the carriers don't have down payments. Our contracts work differently. They will just say, 40$ a monthx24 months for tablet+2GB monthly.

So this whole down payment concept is something I'm not used to.

Well the tablet is say 250.00 actually, but they giving a discount for 99.00 on a 3 year contract (which means a data plan cheapest is 17.00 a month for the playbook) which over that 3 yrs you will be paying off the 150.00 that us still owing and once the 3 yrs is up its yours to keep, just think of it like leasing a car for 3-5 years.

You can buy it out at any time after 90 days now due to new policy on rogers, but previously you need to wait the 3 yrs then they changed it to anytime you can upgrade so you pay off the remaining tab balance, now this month new policy is after 90 days on rogers.

So if I wanted to pay 150.00 off now I can and still be on the data contract, but the tablet is mine to keep and if I wanted to upgrade to newer tablet I already paid my tab off.

The tab consists of the remaining amount owing for the product.

By the way you can sell the tablet or phone device at anytime, but remember you still owe that tab balance.

As i understand it, you pay $99 up front and then it costs $17/month for 3 years for "x" Gb of data. I wonder how much data?
    Not a bad deal.

xamdam said for him/her it is "17.00 per month (or 4.00 more per month with a 5gb shared data plan included)." Presumably, xamdam has an existing 5GB data plan and if data sharing is added to the account then the tablet data plan is only 4.00 per month instead of 17.00 per month (lowest tier) without the data sharing across devices.

Yes i had a 6gb Non Shared data plan previously to getting playbook, so when i got playbook the 17.00 month was the basic plan for playbook, but i had to lose 1gb of data to drop to a 5gb shared data plan, which over all when said and done my total services for 2 phone lines and the playbook line = 3 lines is only 4.00 more per month. This was for me, not saying it would be for everyone, but the 17.00 is standard for playbook fee on contract.

So if you have a big data plan already you will benefit by sharing, but if not then of course you should get a shard data plan.

I use wifi as much as i can anyways i have yet used 6GB of data on my old plan, let alone 5gb on my new shared plan, so far i only used around 1-2gb ever, but its there for when i need it, like if i travel or when i am out and about and no wifi is around.
