    Ok so I have never used a HDMI cable from my playbook to the tv, as I have never owned one until today. However, I tried to connect it to several TV's and it wouldn't workkkkkkkkkkkk. I'm annoyed, is my hdmi port mashed up or something? I actually have no clue. Look at the hdmi port, what is the gold thing slanting/sticking out??

    There should nothing sticking out :s

    The PB and the Tv port should be females...

    Okay once you are plugged in with playbook and your TV, you then grab the TV remote and switch to one of the HDMI input sources. On my TV there were 3 and after trying each one, of course it was the third and zoom the playbook screen was on the TV.

    Once I plugged it in, it still said "Not Connected" then I tried all the HDMI 1,2,3 and 4, but nothing!

    I use AmazonBasics cables; the one for my PB works great.

    I'd try different ports and diffent cables, but there is somethign about that image that suggests a defect.

    You did use the Options (Gear symbol) and turn on hmdi?

    Is that "fleck" on the left just a reflection off the back and similarly, those two on the right. Nothing should interfere with the cable plugging it fully. No one tried wedging something in, or a usb cable into it?

    Did you buy it new or used PB?

    Did you try to insert a USB cable into it?

    I haven't used the HDMI port AT ALL until today, and it didnt work, i bought it last week, i can get a refund or get it replaced before the 24th so i shall head to the shop tomorrow

    I would suggest you get a different cable (brand of cable). My first one, which was medium quality, simply didn't work. I nearly went crazy trying everything on my TV - different ports, firmware updates etc.

    A different cable and it all sprang to life.

    That port looks damaged, and it looks nothing like mine --although mine has plenty of scars on the outside from groping for a connection in the dark. If the port is shot, there's no sense in replacing the cable. Good luck getting past this.

    So I went to the shop today, and I reported that my playbook hdmi port may be damaged. Before taking action, we tried another cable, and it STILL didn't work. It was indeed the playbook. The counter assistant would've given me a new playbook, but it was out of stock EVERYWHERE. IT's a joke, so instead I got a refund. Thank you for your help everyone!
