It all started with the Playbook purchase. Oddly enough, I didn't initially go for the Playbook. I had an Asus Slider (after owning some other Android tablets) and it was a pretty solid device. But, the Prime came out and of course I wanted the latest and greatest. I ordered one, waited, and it was stuck in "processing" for over a week through Best Buy. I called and cancelled the order.

Aggravated, I started looking at other devices that I have never given a chance. I always thought about the Playbook during the times I made my Android tablet purchases, but the steep price (even for the 16GB) was a turn off. Now the tides have turned. I found that the 64GB devices was $299. I figured what the heck.

After it arrived and after a few days of using it, I was in love. This was everything I had hoped for in a tablet. Fast, awesome screen and speakers, size is *perfect*, and I found all of the apps and games that would keep me busy for months or years...and then some.

A few days after that, I received an email from Best Buy...Prime has SHIPPED. What? I cancelled the order (called them) and it was shipped? Apparently they did not care about my cancellation and charged me anyway! Well, it arrived and of course I had to play with it instead of returning it right away. It was...ok. Fast yes. Good graphics, yes. But it was...the same old thing. Still had tons of ads and a "wild west" fashion marketplace as always. I tried to love it, and probably would have had I not been bitten with the Playbook

I ended up ebaying the Prime, and luckily got all of my money back on it. I only have the Playbook now, and it satisfies my tablet cravings daily. I haven't taken it out of the house as I fear damage, but that'll change when my Otterbox arrives I've been using it now for a few months and love every minuet of it. I have purchased QUITE a few apps and have found some seriously useful things that make the Playbook a device I now *need*, not only enjoy!

I just placed an order for the Bold 9930 today, after testing my brother's Bold 9930. I didn;t even know he had one, but apparently his work provided it. I was stunned at the quality of the device, although I should have expected it as the Playbook is of the same high quality nature. I went to Amazon wireless this morning, was approved, and placed my order.

I cannot wait to try Bridge honestly. I am a full blown fan of BB devices now. The quality is just top notch....something you just do not find in devices (of any type) nowadays. Thank you RIM.

Your Story is just like mine. I had an Ipad 2 and decided to give it to the wife when the playbook went on sale at Best Buy. The PB is a much better tablet. You'll love the otterbox, I got one for my PB right away and love it.

I am looking forward to the Otterbox. I read so many great reviews and so many testimonies from folks here. I plunked down the cash as I keep getting coupons for the CB store

Same for me. I never intended to buy a Playbook but couldn't find anything else decent enough for the money I could afford to spend. So I bought a PB and have enjoyed since. Fantastic little tablet. And I'm torn between wanting a 9900 Bold and a Samsung Note. I just can't find any justification for a Bold, though. I'm not a business user and mainly use my smartphones for gameplay and media play....like videos and music. The Bold's screen is just too small for what I need. Otherwise I would pounce all over a Bold. I may yet still decide to get one...as an appreciation type gadget...where I enjoy it's style and design rather than use it as an entertainment device.

Just thought I would share my story.
I have had my Bold 9780 for just about a year much to the ridicule of the rest of the family who are all iPhone fanatics. We purchased an ipad in October and I must admit that at first I loved it. Unfortunately the more I used it I realised that I only "played" with it and I never used it in a more productive way for benefit my work. I looked for some decent apps that would suit but didn't really find what I was looking for. After some research I came to the conclusion that a PB was just what I needed. To my amazement the price was a bargain, even if the wife didn't think so!
After a quick run to carphone warehouse I was the proud owner of a new playbook. My prayers have been answered! This is the best tool for my work I have at the moment. The bridge is awesome and aside from a few choice applications I have purchased, it was good Togo out of the box. The build quality and speed are far above that of the ipad and the multitasking is even better!
Hats of to RIM for a quality product

Same, I came to crackberry because of my love of my PB.

However, I didn't get the pb because it was cheap, I got my 16 GB at the original 500$ price point, after doing comparisons and research, I found the playbook was by far the most advanced, solid build, and overall it was just the best thing for my needs.

    I got a 9810 afterwards

Just wanted to add to the PB love. If there are people unaware, the PB uses a high-end audio chipset by Wolfson. Anyone familiar with Wolfson will know they are the chip of choice for the highest-end MP3 players from Cowon and others. Apple used Wolfson chips in their highest favored and rated iPods like the Nano 3G and 3rd through 5th gen full-sized iPods. iRiver has used them. The original Zunes used Wolfson. Any audio device that has used Wolfson chips has received high praise for sound quality.

Our PB is no slacker in the sound quality department. The fact that RIM chose to design the PB with 2 front mounted stereo speakers is a true testament to the intelligent design behind the PB. Every other company out there, including the highly renowned Apple, puts speakers on the back or sides. These babies in the PB are pointed right at you for the best possible audio quality such tiny speakers can produce. The fact that a Wolfson chip is pumping out that sound really impresses me. This is a tablet primed for high-end IEMs from Shure, Klipsch, Sleek Audio, Ultimate Ears and others. If you find yourself with a set of those IEMs, plug them into your PB and enjoy the fantastic audio quality it will provide.
