Last week my playbook starting opening and closing programs on its own. It will keep doing this until the Messages setup screen appears. Once I close that screen it starts opening and closing apps at random. I downloaded the OS update and backed up everything and it acted normally for a day and then started going crazy again. This is not related to the charging issue. Bottom line my playbook is totally unuseable. Also, I have tried the hard reset several times to no avail. Need direction on what to do next. Thanks

Plasma TV's and other electro-magnetic appliances and even those "lightning globes" and/or static electricity can cause similar symptoms. But if, say, moving outside away from such items does not fix it - you may have an issue.

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

    LOL.
OP, you have an issue. Should be able to use it near "electro-magnetic appliances". Good news is RIM accepts out of warranty repairs, if reports here can be believed.

Since the update, my PlayBooks have been doing the same several times each day.
