My computer would not recognize my playbook, so I updated the latest Blackberry Desktop Manager, did the reboot, etc. Now, when I plug the usb cable into the pb, I get a message that a device has exceeded the power limit on the hub port. So I moved the cable to the computer itself. The complaint went away but the device is not found.

File storage is turned on in settings on the pb.

You might want to reboot the computer and see if that changes things. Sometimes, once a device is "found" on one usb port (hub), the computer might not find it on another port. See what happens.
