wondering if you can turn the mobile network off on your phone and still use the bbm thru the bridge and wifi.
I am traveling out of country and still want to bbm but not be charged roaming for using data.

Yes, I just tested it with the mobile network turned off but connected to Wifi and using UMA. I am able to both send and receive BBM messages over bridge. It should work for you the same way as long as you are connected via UMA and the Blackberry servers.

I can't say that for sure, you'll have to phone your carrier and ask if they charge roaming on wifi data routed through their servers. I believe it goes right through RIM at that point, so I do not thikk so sice you are not using cellular data.
