Playbook booting forever
Hello all,
Yesterday I using my PB just fine.
I went to sleep and when I woke up and tried to use it, it was turned off.
I found it akward as it had a lot of battery.
When I tried to boot it, it keeps booting forever with the "Blackberry Playbook" on screen and changing the colors of the bubbles but never ends the boot.
Any ideas?

A hard reboot (hold down the power button and simultaneously press the volum up and volume down buttons; hold until the tablet reboots - a red light will appear in the LED notification area).
-
That type of cycle could also be related to something folks have discovered - if you are too organized and placed all of your icons in folders and placed ONLY folders on the Favorite Dock, that top line of icons, that can cause such symptoms.

Hello,
I tried the hard reset and it didn't work (i can't do the hard reset).
As for the folders, I have only icons in the favorite dock but all other are in folders, except for 1 or 2 , the last downloaded apps.

You cant do a hard reset? Press the Power and both volume keys and hold them. This should work even if the device is frozen.

3 restart methods:
To fix an issue, try these in order:
Restart using the Battery Icon and press Restart
Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds. Then leave it for 20-30 seconds and see if it restarts.
To REBOOT:
Press and HOLD all three keys for about 10 - 20 seconds: PowerOn, VolUp and VolDown. Start with the PowerButton. Keep holding past the 3-choice options screen. If you hear a shutter type sound, you've taken a Screen Shot and probably missed the PowerButton.

And if you need EXTRA help in portuguese, drop me a PM. The guys got it covered so far.

I hold the power button , then vol- , then vol+.
After awhile it turns off
I keep them Hold and it doesn't boot again
I let the buttons , wait a while and it doesn't boot
Only after clicking the power button it boots again, but then I have my problem, it keeps on booting but never ends the boot.

You can call Rim or you can try the Debrick method
The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

Try the Debrick method....
Perform a backup of your pb if you can using Desktop Manager or, at least, manually coping any unique data, photos, voice recordings, documents, etc.
1) Turn your playbook OFF by holding down the power button
2) Let your playbook sit for about 10 minutes as earlier suggested.
3) After letting the PB sit (and still powered off) open up the Blackberry Desktop Software (the latest version)
4) Once the Blackberry Desktop Software is opened, use the USB Cable and hook the PB to the PC.. THEN power on the Playbook
5) A screen will show on your computer showing that the device cannot be found
6) Click on Update. It will take awhile
