As expected this whole thing was a bunch of JUNK.

Well we had our own issues with the circular logic of the rumor but now we have RIM confirming the rumor is false. JD let us know that RIM responded on Twitter to the BGR confirming that the BlackBerry PlayBook Wi-Fi model is not discontinued and their rumor was “Pure Fiction.” You can see their exact response above.

This makes me wonder if we will actually get a rumor saying that RIM’s co-CEO’s are aliens… Maybe even another anonymous letter from a former employee to confirm their extra terrestrial origins.

i know rim stated that they're not canceling the the pb but if they retract and do cancel it in oct I'm so done with rim. Never will i ever get a rim product again.

Funny how the OP titled this thread RIM to discontinue Playbook...then the actual story (though false) is about the wifi version. Me thinks he is feeling a bit sore cause he lost a couple hundred bucks by selling his. Needs to justify it i guess.

Rim would be crazy to kill off wifi version. Glad to hear not true. All this odd rumors are killing me. Cant we all just focus on what Rim is doing right for a change.
