Hard restart. Hold down power and volume up, will restart PB software, improves battery consumption

    1. Back up with Blackberry Desktop
    2. Security wipe Playbook.
    3. Update to lastest OS.
    4. Restore from back up using Blackberry Desktop.

    Worked wonders for mine.

It's odd in my case, I recently did a security wipe to deal with other issues (lagging keyboard etc.), but now my battery life seems to have taken a huge hit.

I tend to keep the media folder separate from the backup, and then just transfer the files separately.

The apps installed on your PlayBook are also something that you should check. You can try doing an OS repair via Desktop Manager, and before doing the backup restore, monitor your battery for a day. If it drops dramatically as you claim, it is probably time to use your warranty.

Android apps running in the background are always the culprit in my experience. I make sure that they get shut down and if they continue to run after that I just kill the Android player entirely.

How do you kill the Android player after you have closed all Android apps? The only known way to do this is by tapping on 'Restart' ;-)
