Try shutting off your wifi overnight. It may be possible that your PlayBook is searching for a wifi signal especially if your router is sending out a weak signal causing the PlayBook to disconnect and reconnect overnight.

I experienced the same thing when I used my rapid charger. It used to work great, now my battery drains when it's connected (I witnessed this using battery Guru). I had the USB plugged in and the battery charged. When I switched to the rapid charger the battery drained. Back to the USB and it started charging again. I've seen this with my desktop rapid charger and the loose cord version. (the contacts on the charger and PB were cleaned). Installation a battery monitoring app and see what's happening. Good luck.

If you are using hotmail there can be a problem. Search for hotmail and battery. You have to delete your email from mail and then put it back. I had this problem.

I also experienced rapid battery drains recently. It turned out to be an option that I'd modified in my calendar settings, which I'd set to manual synchronization. Switching it back to a 24h interval solved the issue for me.

    Good luck !

This issue has been posted in other forums already.
The solution is to delete/remove your wifi as well as your email accounts on the PB and reconfigure both again.

I see you have gotten many good advice already, but on some of our devices I found that the drain was mainly caused by having the Wireless File Sharing enabled on the Playbooks. In the beginning it was great - but battery started to drain quicker and quicker.

Perhaps there are some Windows processes that try to index something on connected devices... I don't know - but after disabling the wireless File sharing - the drain stopped.. I can still have WiFi enabled and mail pushing... but now the devices are charges 2-3 times pr week - instead of twice pr day.

Mine drains at least 50 percent overnight, in Airplane mode.

It is the WiFi that is draining your battery. Only use WiFi when you are using PlayBook and battery performance will increase.

I will just add that I leave BOTH bt and wifi ON overnight and do not lose much power - 2% to 3%. It is probably associated with something else and maybe even something using those features.

I'm gonna say that if you don't want to go through the trouble of turning off all your connections or changing email settings or whatever every night then just charge it every night. That's what I do. I don't have to worry about it draining over night and not being useable the next day. I like knowing my pb will be useable the next day but I'm also lazy and charging is just easier than all that other stuff.

Edit: I remembered something. I used that flip clock app before and it drained my battery overnight while on the dock charger. Maybe because the screen stays on, I don't know. So if you are charging it while this is happening then it might be some app like that. But I have left apps (like slacker) running all night while on the dock and it charges and stays charged over night.
