I assume that it is wiped? Other than that mate crack on. If there are remnants of the previous user on it go to security settings and wipe device by putting in blackberry into the password. Always good to start with a clean device IMO. Also download bridge and Origami browser which renders pages a lot quicker than the stock browser.
You will also need bridge for the 9780 as well
Never had a 9790 but I will assume it runs on OS 7! Should be good to go with full bridge capabilities unlike OS10 :(
yes runs on os 7, bridge worked fine. hope BB get everything sorted out for when the new Z30 comes out and perhaps they can bring out a new tablet to go with.

Haha a new tablet? Give your head a shake
I know, just wishfull thinking....still never say never. if apple can survive with 2 current phones and essentially 2 tablets, maybe bb and new partner can do the same.
You may also have to go to rroyy.com for his Bridge App. This is the "correct and good" version. If your carrier tries to hit you with "tethering" charges as you Bridge with the installed oem version, this is why you need this version of Bridge. They will not see it as tethered. They will charge fees for tethering.
With this version of Bridge from rroyy.com they will not see it, and your data bridged from Playbook thru your phone will use your phone's data plan.

Maybe? I doubt it. I am using my Torch 9850 and 64GB ( I have 2 of them, one for work, and the other is a media server for my TV and Stereo system using Neutron Player and a BB Music Gateway. Works great), and until the phone fails, I will stick around to see if the fix Bridge with OS 10, then I MAY pick up my Z10 Or Z30????. Until that, if no fixie, oh well..........
sigh...................

Hi, got the bridge from blackberry app world and put it on my phone then it automatically connected (once bluetooth was on) to the playbook and works fine. PB works fine for the internet, getting info from the phone etc. All in all I'm very happy with the playbook (bought 64gb from ebay for 67). Shame BB don't feel as proud of it as I do and I have used an ipad and to be honest, prefer the PB.
Unfortunately a lot of things Blackberry are doing at the moment doesn't make sense to their customers. Enjoy your tablet and phone bridged, I think that set up was when Blackberry peaked. Now they seem commited to dismantling connectivity that WAS seen as standard.
That's at least 500 billions dollars difference between the two companies.
makes sense to have both phone and tablet bridged (people or more likely to buy same makes of pbone and tablet) but a bb seem to belive tablets are passing phase doesn't look like this will continue. shame as I realy like my phone tablet combo. As its not going to last on the next upgrade...ill have to see what's out there.
Amen Brother. Get in the Playbook community action thread or follow @SavethePlaybook on twitter and make your voice heard (hopefully) We need all the support we can get to save Blackberry from THE stupidest business model ever. Look at it as saving Blackberry from themselves or Thor. Your case in point is exactly what we're talking about. You get a tablet which generally has a longer life span than your phone. Your upgrade comes up and you get the phone to go with the tablet. If BB had shown any loyalty to existing tablet owners you might think twice but after the dropping of updates for tablets people are going to think give me a good reason not to.
I have to agree with you. I use a 9810 in place of your 9790. This combination allows me to do so many things in one closely connected system. I like efficiency of design.
