Since the end of my plan with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (first edition) I have been looking for a new smaller compact non-Android tablet that is cheap off-contract. So I went on eBay and found the Playbook 32GB 4G LTE version brand new for $129 AUD. ($120.98 USD)

NEW Unlocked Blackberry Playbook 4G LTE 32GB PC Tablet With Wifi 5MP Camera | eBay
Although it is imported, I checked and it still supports 3G in Aus, as my data plan isn't 4G anyway. I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks from the Playbook, anything I should know before buying or if the Playbook is simply worth it. I would use the device for music, browsing, social networking, some games and watching videos. I'm also prepared to side load apps. Also, please don't mention or compare to iPad or other flagship Android tablets as they're all out of my price range.

    Any help would be appreciated

Truthfully probably not. I'm wouldn't pay more than 100 for it anyway considering it is not longer supported by BlackBerry

If you accept it for what it is and all of its shortcomings, then it's a good tablet. Its fun to play around with if you like a challenge and being unique.

If you use the playbook for what you have mentioned, then it is well worth it. I use mine for the exact same purpose, email, general browsing, the odd game or two. Docs to Go is fully functional and works well enough, if you use that. It is unfortunate about its shortcomings but it is still a very usable tablet. Perfect in size and weight.

At the right price. Don't really see many 4G LTE PlayBook offered for sale at a price I would pay though.

Can't find a 4G LTE model in the US for that low...
Been wanting one for mostly reading though.
    Would get it though.

Looks like the guys selling these in Australia are connected to the guys selling on Ebay UK (same spelling mistakes in the advert).
I bought mine for 85.99 & am very happy with it, using 3G with T-Mobile & GiffGaff. Compared to the Wifi PlayBook, browsing speeds are slower, battery life is shorter, & colours on the screen are not as sharp. But to complement my Wifi PlayBook, & at that price, its a great buy.
(Just to add that these guys have sold 150 LTE PlayBooks in the UK in the last couple of months so have caused a mini revival for the PlayBook in GB!).
