$350 PlayBook 4G + $720 over the 3 year contract =$1070 plus HST (14%) did I get that right? If you have the money I am sure it is worth for someone out there.
But for me curve and Wi-Fi PB is perfect!

CrackBerry lists 1700 as one of the HSPA+ bands. Does that mean a WIND or Mobilicity sim card would also work? That would be awesome with the unlimited plans. Does anybody know this?

No, the device has to be modified to work with WIND. Just like my BB 9860 which is from Bell unlocked and I have HSPA+ an the range of Mhz won't work on WIND or Public Mobile it needs more modification to its system board to work.

I wonder about BBM and text... Could the PB be used stand-alone (no BB)...

    No native BBM.
Does not have OS 2.1 so no texting. I also think texting in 2.1 is a bridge only function.

Here are the features listed on Bell. Not sure what they mean by instant messaging but texting isn't an option.

Bell doesn't even list the PB as video calling compatible (between PBs anyways)
