Playbook 16GB is about $399 on Amazon this weekend...and that with the 100 from RIM for BB owners makes it $300...that is like best deal in a while...why is there no discussion of this anywhere..did I miss something? Oh...and its Fulfilled By Amazon so pretty safe deal!

I mentioned it as an FYI on another thread. It's a good Amazon deal made better with the Rim 100 for the 16gb. I'm waiting for a better deal on the 64gb plus the Rim 100.

I'm sick of Amazon and most of their items not being shippable to Canada.

There's nothing fishy, you click where it says "53 New" or whatever number is listed and you will see a detailed list of which Amazon affiliates and sales partners have stock and their current prices. 3rd party sales partners can set their own shipping restrictions.

...and there are a whole lot of retailers offering the Playbook at a discounted price right now.

Rogers is offering $100 off any Blackberry device, including Playbooks. i just bought my son one there last week.

I also mailed in the rebate form for the $100 back to school rebate. I don't put a lot of faith in these types of rebates or base my buying decision on them.

I was getting a 9900 at the same time and they took $100 off both the phone and the Playbook, but I don't think I needed to buy a phone to get the playbook deal. You might want to check the Rogers site or ask at a local store to see the details of the offer and if it is still available.

Canada Computers is also selling the Playbooks at $399/$499/$599. Unfortunately its an in-store purchase only because of low stock levels, but thought I'd put it out there for the Canadians...
