I wandered into BestBuy a couple of days ago, Playbook in hand. Guy in a blue shirt stopped me at the front door, asking "is that a tablet". "Yeah" I said, "a BlackBerry Playbook".

"Oh", he says..."I need to put a sticker on it so you don't have problems getting out with it" as he reached for his roll of stickers.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me", I responded, "it's a BlackBerry Playbook. When was the last time you had one of these on the shelves?"

    He put his stickers away.

Most of 2013, I used it as a bedside clock especially after I got my Z10. My Z10 just smokes my PB. Lately, I've been using it to watch movies that I've saved on my PB through my home theater. My friends are impressed I can control my PB with my phone.

what if John Chen surprisingly decides to support the playbook and even upgrades the OS to a BB10 RT versions of sorts? How many of us would be willing to keep it?
Stop with the Microsoft OS RT crap. The RT versions of Microsoft's products are crippled garbage.

BlackBerry had an opportunity to be a market leader in professional-use tablets with smartphone integration. Instead BlackBerry management fumbled when they tried to be a consumer device company leading to the tablet originally labelled as "the world's first professional-grade tablet" floundering in terms of features, applications, and marketing. BlackBerry Tablet OS remains superior to Google Android and Microsoft Windows for Tablets.

PFFFFT! Obviously you never tried nor own a Surface RT, because just your statement above shows me how ignorant you are about the Surface RT.... Yea sure it's not full windows 8.1 but make no mistake it isn't garbage, just for different user who doesn't need to have a full win 8 to be productive and have fun with media consumption and do a little gaming. best tablet I have ever bought! So do us a favor stop spewing your crap...mmmkay?

Today like every morning I was awakened by my Playbook. It said good morning, called me by name gave me the date time, temperature and forecasted weather outlook. All while it plays a soothing jazz piece to gently nudge me from my slumber.
The app that does this is BedBuzz.

I will leave that one in its charging dock and use my second PB to browse and return whatever emails that came in since last night, re-check the families activities / my schedule for the day while I have my morning brew. Yes I sneak in a quick level of Dead Space because I just can't figure out how to make that crazy jump.

This morning I loaded two episodes of House Of Cards that I'll enjoy while waiting in the car for a client to show a property, because I can always count on them being late or getting lost enroute to their hopefully future new home.

Last Saturdays swim meet my child's heats were recorded, and pictures were taken with their friends.

It has been tucked under my arm while my boss marvels on about "how do you find the time to get so much done". So if your PB is collecting dust you either purchased the wrong tablet or you're using it all wrong.
That's pretty intimate.. what else do you do or watch on your playbook?

Back using my 64gb PlayBook after I got my Q10 and remembering why I like BlackBerry better than my ipad that's keeps telling me it misses me while I funnel through 6 million junk apps built by people who just want to say they built an app. Run on sentences still occur

I don't care what anyone says.
    The playbook was state-of-the-art.
For whatever may have sucked about it was / is nothing compared to its build quality and performance..

I'm sure enterprise customers are employing it's use somewhere in the world..

Yes, there is a difference. The BlackBerry PlayBook never got updated to bb10. Bb10 is the operating system that runs on your shiny new Q10 Or Z10 as a matter of fact. Hope that helps.

Oh for gawds sake, please stop with these outlandish remarks... the only tablet you could possibly compare the PB to is a koss android cheapy tablet.... or 1 of those no name ones. Even the Surface RT tablet VASTLY out performs and runs rings around the PB.

Just wondering what is on the Surface RT forum. Just got a Toshiba Encore 8 tablet because I wondered what a real Windows environment was like on a tablet. But still think PB has some nice features. Too bad the ram and processor speed don't allow running BB10 plus all those Android 4.x apps.

My wife wants another Playbook. She's hogging mine, with one of those silly TV apps on a unlimited data plan. (Wifi'ed via Z10)

Should I just get her a cheapo 16GB? I hate having too many redundant devices lying around.

    "No Q10?" -> "Buy from Chen... "
