Sad but true. RIM needs to really get a handle on its reps at the shows and so forth because the rim customer base has its ears perked 24/7 and anything they say is grasped with both hands and hammered to a sheet of gold and hung on the wall (which you nornally should be able to trust a company's reps).
OS 2.1 to be released beginning of summer
And with that LINK did you not notice in the Headline the ? that ended that? It was just speculation. AND Again, this was announced BEFORE the delay of BB10 phones... So it's all tied together because the OS isn't ready. Remember, the PB is the gateway OS to BB10 and there for, the reason for the delay of BB10 is because the OS isn't 100% ready and what they have done with the BB10 OS is copy the PB OS, the PB OS isn't ready to be updated as of yet because it doesn't meet their standards.
The blog writer was told early summer.
Here is an exact quote. I am not paraphrasing or even verbatim retyping; I cut and pasted this... First lines of the blog...
"The word coming from BlackBerry World is that PlayBook OS 2.1 will arrive at the beginning of summer. Brad from BerryReporter learning during a BB10 session that a Dev. beta build should be out towards the end of the month for devs to get their applications ready. The public release is schedule for early summer."
Yes I see that, but think logically, and reread my post, because I did edit it and you did quote it, that was before the announcement of the delay of the new phones.
The OS hinges on the making of the phones, so if the OS isn't ready, phone productions have to be pushed back, the OS is based on the playbook OS and the Playbook OS isn't ready for the updates.
AND as you said, this topic has been beaten to death... Everyone finds something to nitpick about and hang on to very words spoken before a delay was announced.
