OS 2.1 probably isn't even ready yet. I would bet that we don't even see the 4G LTE models come out until next month sometime or in September.

Remember it was never offically announced by RIM that it was coming out on the 31st. It leaked by a carrier, there is one thing I have learned years ago is to never trust a carrier they lie most of the time, always go to the source!

Who knows on the 4g. Is it real? What ever happened to frequent updates? Oh that's right we don't get those in favor of rumors and long waits. Brilliant strategy.

The carrier lied, RIM has not officially said anything. So what does this mean, well it means you'll have to wait until RIM has released a public statement that they are releasing the PlayBook 4G LTE by X date.

Whoever said OS2.1 was coming out today anyway? It would have been great but there was no bridge update & im sure there will be an actual announcement with an actual release date just like when OS2.0 was announced. RIM has said nothing from the get go other than it would be out "soon". If you think "soon" means July 31st then your very wrong!

It was reported that Bell has some inside memo that it was coming out on the 31st. As I have stated already carriers LIE, it's a fact of life for them.

So you need to wait until RIM makes its public speach (usually in a form of a press release) that it intends on releasing the Playbook 4G LTE on such and such date.

It's funny how how too many people don't read between the lines, even on the internet which has the same amount of disinformation as it does have of good information.

Why do people keep expecting something that has no indication it is coming... normally you see postings predicting something happening via updates on the various site.... then as mentioned... if you do not see a bridge update... odds are you will not see on OS update.... Never could understand why Playbook users in particular are so hung up on updates.... Own an Ipad and HP Touchpad and when surfing the forums I do not see all this chatter about whern an upgrade is coming.... Want to make a Playbook user really squirm... give them an Android tablet and let them figure out if an update is "ever" coming... at least with RIM you know one is coming......

Guys... CHILL OUT... We need the Bridge update first, and its not coming today!! You can sit there all you want hitting update, its not coming today!! No one EVER said July 31st, they said sometime early summer, which it is still!! So calm down!!

It's speculation based on the Bell document showing the 4G LTE release as July 31, 2012. The speculation being it would indicate 2.1 would be available for it at that time. If you read the body of the document, it only references 2.0.
