    hi plz i need your help i just got a used PB 4g and did a security wipe .......but after setup no icon on my playbook only browser and setup tried to do a fresh update with BBDM alwahs get an error please help me i am stuck with a pb only with a browser thanks in advance

    Have you tired to pull an update over WiFi, I know that is what I had to do when I did a security Wipe of my PB and it was in the same state as your currently is.

    SOMETIMES, after a Security Wipe, only the Browser gets restored for some reason. At that point, you should try pressing the UPDATE button in the GEAR./options and see if it offers one.

    If that does not work, you can actually power off the PB, connect it to usb (still OFF) and fired up the Desktop Software and again, see if it offers an OS upgrade or fix.

    i tried more than 15 times bb desktop manager i always get an error in the middle of the update the wifi doesnt give the choise of updating since i have the last software thanks

    When the icons (or limited number in your case) are showing, Swipe down. At the upper Right is the GEAR/options/settings. Tap that. Look down the list and find and select "Software Updates." Then press "Check for Updates" button.

    Oh, do you have the LTE (cellular enabled) pb? That does have a different OS version, I think and it is up to the carrier to release it.

    But if you are having issues - how old? Even if beyond warranty, Rim has been known to help with issues.

    The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"
