I had to purchase a second Playbook since I can't pry my wife's out of her hands. ($179 at Radio Shack. Unbelievable.) We use kobo but a book we recently purchased through kobo was actually DRM free so can't be read by Kobo.

I installed Winkreader which reads the file but doesn't work great as a reader. I installed Overdrive which I thought read DRM free epub but I can't get the app to find the file anywhere. Any suggestions?

Odd that kobo can't read a book you got from them because it is drm free.

Are you sure that Overdrive can read any book you place in its "system?"

Did you try placing it in any folder within the Overdrive folder?

It is odd but I know kobo doesn't necessarily work perfectly so I wasn't surprised. The answer their customer support gave us is that it can't be read on the app.

I place the file in the overdrive folder with no luck.

I think there may be a free reader program in appworld that can read drm-free books. If not, lots of folks seem to discuss and like one pretty cheaply priced ebook reader - sorry, I don't know its name but it is generally discussed in the app subforum.

What format? Calibre can convert and maybe you could convert to pdf or other?
