I think I know the answer, but will put the question out there.

Is there any alternative to Overdrive for downloading and reading ebooks, from the public libraries?

I find Overdrive to be buggy and their support unresponsive.

Today, I tried to download a book and the app hung up. I had to kill it. When I reloaded and tried downloading the book, again, it says the the book has already been returned!! Just how do you return a book that was never downloaded, and why is it trying to return it, anyway.

Just another example of the issues. I have had thisissue, previously. As I can no longer download it or return it, I have to wait for the book to expire and reappear, in the library, as available, in this case, 3 weeks.

So, I would really like an alternative.

I do believe Overdrive is the only way. It's incorporated into the download system and is part of the security to prevent people from stealing the books.
