It would be really interesting if someone would test the GPS on the OS 2...

Worked fine here tonight. At least as good as 1.0.8 and the betas.

Mine works fine in OS 2. Just opened up 3 gps apps, Bing, Magellan Compass, and VCMS from inside my living room. Location was picked up actually very quickly, < 30 secs.

An interesting comparison since this is the first time with both apps open, Magellan Compass has my location pinpointed pretty much exactly (5-10ft), and Bing is ~60 ft away.

Bing maps found me no problem.

And now Google maps works with the browser in 2.0 I wonder if the gps will work with that?

Doesn't work for me at all. Didn't work in previous OS either. GRRR. Went to future shop today and tried their floor model...Bing worked without a hitch, also within less than 30 seconds. What's the deal?

Where did you get google - an Android app? Or just the browser version?

Well, I seem to be having problems. I will have to check a few things.

Aha, Compass took about 5 minutes and I moved the pb to the window. Georendr then immediately found me.

But I do have more checking to do. Battery Guru showed a very steady and larger power loss overnight under OS2 whereas OS1 was a steady almost NON-loss. Was wondering if something had bollixed up the gps and left it on (mapdroyd was installed yesterday but other than that I did not use any gps apps since installation).

Is there a setting somewhere for setting up you location? When I start Bing Maps it thinks I'm in Canada.

I'm using the "app" version that was converted from .apk to .bar for the PB.
Actual name of the app is latitude.
When comparing voice turn by turn, I can say that BB traffic is much clearer and smoother.

Okay, where does one find that bar file? Thanks.
