I have a 32GB playbook that still has 1.0.1.1534 OS. The usb port is bad, and I cannot connect to the Desk Manager.
When I try to update the OS through wifi, I get the "cannot connect to update server blah blah (2011)" error.
WIFI is turned on and I can browse the internet.
I have since learned that the Blackberry update server won't accept the 1.0.1 OS certificate.
Is there a way to update the OS to the 2.0 (I assume that will work for the update server) by a firmware through a file on my pc through wifi? It looks like on the BB support site, it has to be 1.0.3xxxx or higher, so anything that would let me update from there.
I also have the firefox extension and have 3 other playbooks I install apps through.
Will the App Manager install firmware?
I hate to think I have a 32gb playbook the I can't use because it won't update because no usb port (physically gone). I can share files wifi, and can charge with a rapid or dock charger, but the 1.01 OS is useless.

Maybe do a wipe to see if it updates that way when you start setting it up.
