For example when going to microsoft.com website and clicking on various of links it shows the links on tabs which I have no problems with. I would like to know how do you close any of the tabs.

Hi. You just need to double tap on the tab to close it.

Additionally; for the active tab, there is the close gesture: a letter: "X", drawn from the top bezel: DOWN-and-RIGHT, then UP, then DOWN-and-LEFT.

Can be quicker, if you have chosen to keep the toolbar hidden and just want to return to the previous page, although that was not your question, and you probably know already.
