samsung split screen is true multitasking
windows 8 and RT offer true multitasking

    What multitasking does Deadbook offer?
its a new form of multi tasking called "No Multitasking", multi tasking is out dated. we call it micro-mono tasking. combined power of all cores is compressed into 100 Mhz.
get used to new technology. it helps you learn more and earn more.
learn more of reality and earn more empathy for RIM/Blackberry.
this is highly specialised multitasking. Where the combined power of 2 CA-9 cores = 200 Mhz, yes its about 1 mhz faster than the fastest adsl mips cpu from 1990, which is 200 Mhz.
    yayyyyyyyy RIM/Blackberry wins.
now you see whats multi tasking. and how RIM/Blackberry is Super Specialized.
plus security? oh its a long field trip lecture. if you dont know electronics then you will crack it in 30 days, if you do know then never.
    thats security.
boot time. Awesome, switch it on at night, and when you get a solid 8 hours of sleep, wallah you have your welcome screen. Hot and fresh like your bed tea.
User experience is awesome. Ask a user they will they you how much they adore it.
psst dont leak this info to apple fan boys. they may get jealous or may even threaten to kill you or kill you, or worse they may even kill you.
Battery life, there is also battery wives, since there are 2 good looking bimbo batteries, which are very efficient since it operates at only 200 Mhz.
    what more can you expect?
android. common. those google ******* are releasing the kernel like idiots. they should be like RIM/Blackberry, you can download the ISO for free along with source but if you want the same source which is 2 year old and svn doesnt work and not updated you need to sign up an NDA.
    and bootloader?
no mother fscker can break it. not even Satan almighty.
and bootrom, not even daddy of satan can break it.
So how you use it? turn it on at night, get solid 8 hours of sleep, wake up, input your password, you will get a nice welcome screen which is touch sensetive. and guess what RIM gives you for free? The pain in your appendicitis will shift upwards. yes it defies gravity and it relocates in the cerebral cortex.
    how fascinating.
And gps? its the toughwood. It works like a hawk. if a hawk flies 20 mts per second then you will know you have moved 2 mm on the sea level.
Bluetooth awesome. but conditions apply it pairs with another blackberry phone for it to function else it doesnt like.
    picky choosy girl friend.
and wifi? awesome. if you are 0 feet away it shows full, 1 foot away 1 bars gone, 2 feet away 2 bars gone, three feet away 3 bars gone, you will be able to count 1-5 when you use their wifi.
What about catching wifi while roaming. Thos heins doesnt like roaming ideas, he likes them static.
Usb otg, you are kidding me? who uses it. its like usb 1.1 from 1980, throw it, users dont need it. they did ask all users in a survey.
Camera? you can use it if you are in pornography. it takes the best snaps in 2d-3d and also in 720 half hd and 1080p full HD.
cool you need not download porn. learn to admire your body.
speakers? too good even bose asked RIM whats the secret sauce.
OS, you are very naughty. Psst, we cant tell you. DOD's PRISM will h8 us h8 us h8 us h8 us. u kno?
    Dont ask, we wont tell.
with all these features in playbook which uses an odd CA-9 1.0 ghz which can be over clocked to 1.5 ghz and a 1 GB ram you want more juice.
hello no free lunch for you.
and bridge? why bridge? there are no rivers what do we need to cross.
BBM, you are kidding me right, silly you dont need it.
Now with all these multi use, multi functional, multi core, multi this and multi that who needs multi device?
RIM/Blackberry have MULTIPLE UNSOLD PLAYBOOK IN WAREHOUSE. you see now kid.
with all these features you still want blackberry OS 10.x? nah! you are so gullible be happy with 2.x. Now dont ask for 10X we are giving you atleast double X rated stuff by FCC.
now shut up and go and sit down with finger on your lips! else no lollypop like Z10 phone for you.
    have a great day!

    thanks!

There's nothing to "get over ". BlackBerry made their decision to abandon the PlayBook so it's no longer part of my long term plans. I'll get as much use out of it as long as I can then move on. If down the road I decide I need a new tablet it obviously won't be a BlackBerry. BlackBerry 's loss. If they come out with something new I won't be an early adopter as I was for the PlayBook. Nothing personal just good business.

I still think BBRY are still incompetent when it comes to software and they're just digging themselves into a hole with BB10. QNX is lean and mean but the crap piled on top of BB10 is not. Symbian does full multitasking on just 256 megs of RAM... my phone can run twenty apps or more, some of them Qt and QML apps, without things grinding to a halt like on a PlayBook.

So what the bloody hell is going on at BBRY when they say they can't fit BB10 into 1 gig of RAM? You've got a few thousand QNX coders, surely they can do something. Or get those pesky fanboys to do it

No future BBRY devices for me, no Z10, no Aristo, no PlayBook replacement if there is any. They've shown themselves to be utterly useless at communicating with users, listening to users and having a clear roadmap.

I think most of us understand that Thor made a business decision, and that it was for the greater today the company. For BlackBerry to have a chance at survival they need to focus on new devices.

Of course their decision is going to affect how many view the company. Personally I had a lot of hope and faith in the "new" company and its new platform, which is why I bought a Z10 and kept it even with the poor performance of the release OS ( it is much better on a leak).

But I haven't seen anything new or different in the way the company operates or treats it's customers. So I don't see any reason they should expect their sales to change either.

BlackBerry CEO on BB10 for PlayBook: "It was one of the toughest decisions I had to make" | CrackBerry.com

I've always said ya need a minimum of 1G RAM per core to run a GUI OS. Enough said about that.

Nothing has changed how I use my PlayBook. I got used to its querks and personality.

It's time to move on and remember that it wasn't the PlayBook or a CEO that brought us to BlackBerry, it's the phones.
I've always been over it....love my PB, will still use it daily at school....my issue is ANOTHER over-promised, under-delivered screw up by a man who runs an international corporation and is paid MILLIONS to NOT make those kind of mistakes. What's going to be the first thought in your head the next promise that Heins makes? Yeah....mine too...you're going to think "Uh-huh....I've heard THAT before." Is that the first thought the words of a CEO should instill into its customers/vendors/employees?
I don't make millions per year, but even I know to say, "We're going to TRY to bring BB10 to the PB," or, "We have our engineers testing it, and IF it is POSSIBLE then we'll upgrade our tablets."
Does one have to be a genius, high-paid, business/corporate expert to know THAT??? Really? I don't think so....I think any competent, smart person would have done as I have mentioned above.

CEOs are just selected few who play musical chairs in the corporate world. Their life span is usually under 5 years. Biggest draw is sign on and sign off bonuses they get. There's no incentive to set long term goal, it will be the next Ceo's problem. The easiest job for them to show positive results on their balance sheets? Lay offs and more lay offs. The next best move? Threatening more job cuts. This will ensure many of the employees will work extra hours for free. Works every single time.

That's because if I understand right QNX micro kernel has no drivers so everything and I mean everything needs to be an app which takes up more resources.

It was an excuse. There isnt a CEO in the world that doesnt know the specs of one of his top products. Thor wanted the tablet killed. The End.

The ***** does not seem to understand that BB is a branded offering in the market place like coke. RIM your company lied about support for the playbook and this will never sit well with customers again. Only conclusion fire all your decision makers than sell RIM for whatever you can get for it because your done anyway!

It is not due to poor sales:

"A BlackBerry spokesman said in a statement that now is the right time to adjust the price of the Z10 as the company introduces newer models.

Its part of life cycle management to tier the pricing for current devices to make room for the next ones, he wrote in an email. This is just one element of our marketing strategy that will ensure we remain aggressive in a very competitive market landscape."

Yup, a few months old device is steeply discounted already. Uh, huh! Right-i-o.

I guess I will check Craigslist for even better prices!

Oh, important note: The article corrects that $49 to $99.

    Mmmmm comparethemarket.com, simple yes?

Bb10 is crap, All the bb10 devices are crap and BlackBerry are history!

I don't know how many times I have to say this but BlackBerry are being set up for a sale. The main problem is will there be a buyer and if so at what price?

The other issue is quack quack and the other dedicated, intelligent coders that bb should have employed in the first place? What name copyrights will BlackBerry retain? If it's pb or OS 10 then they are goosed because the new buyer wil sue vigourasly and with purpose?

he indirectly just confirmed that BB10 cannot run on low spec phones. how is it going to compare with the WP8s running on a quarter of the ram required by bb10?

I guess that locks out the market share option to expand the ecosystem (native apps).

BB10 isn't crap... it is still new and needs to mature yes, but it does have potential.... just like web-OS had potential due to mismanagement by the company that bought it. Of course they have shown that BB10 isn't as powerful as were lead to believe that QNX and it's micro kernel would be - It's minimum hardware requirements are going to really hurt the platform. From unhappy PlayBook owners to no entry level devices (of course the Z10 might be priced as an entry level device very soon).

BB10 Devices are not crap... my Z10 performs very well. But it is NOT a premium device, and shouldn't have been priced as such. As a fan, I paid more for it... but believe it or not MOST people are not fans and aren't willing to pay more for less.

BlackBerry is history.... have to agree that at this point I can't imagine they have something up their sleeve that is going to wow consumers or instill confidence in big business or app developers. Or that 3 Billion is going to last long with them dragging their feet. But I don't believe they are being "set up" for a sale on purpose, just that they aren't able to compete in the market space anymore. And unfortunately they are PROVING to everyone that there isn't room for a new platform without something different so other than their patents and MDM Software... don't see a sale saving the BlackBerry brand that we know.

From this what you just said here.....It is very obvious that his promise about OS10 for playbook was only to make people buy the rest of playbooks they have.

I'm afraid that it does appear that there could be some truth to that. The need for 2GB was known long before many of Thor "statements" about bringing BB10 to the PlayBook. If nothing else they should have been a little more forthcoming about the possibility of BB10 not working. But even after users began suspecting problems with memory size... BBRY employees were tweeting that it was coming or making statements that it was coming.

It's their incompetence not just RAM.
Their picked it up as an easy excuse

After they screwed BB10 design and optimisation they came up with 'sorry it's RAM'

Dev alphas reasonably run BB10 with 1GB RAM 6 months ago. There gave up optimisation as adding RAM to Z10 was cheaper .
They just 'forgot ' to mention they ar killing PlayBook as they had hundreds thousands units inventory at the time.

The sheer bloody irony is that the PB's specs were pretty impressive on release and still pretty impressive now for such a cheap device, but all that is hobbled by crap software.

My 2-year-old Android tablet with a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra2 SoC was slow and clunky with Honeycomb, got much better with ICS and now it's rocking thanks to Jelly Bean. My also-2-year-old PlayBook with 1 GHz dual-core OMAP4430, a faster and more capable SoC than Tegra2, is stuck with a crap OS that was supposed to be the best thing in mobile computing since sliced bread

The PB is a literal dead end: I can only run the limited apps currently available in the extremely limited app store. With the Android tablet, I can keep upgrading the OS and apps as long as there's someone who cooks up a custom ROM. The PlayBook is relegated to an appliance... the Android tablet is a true mobile computer
Would you feel the same way if it were possible to root the Playbook?
