It's now in the app store under apps...chromecast, along with the others now working with his awesome$35.00 piece of kit.

it picks up all your local media sharing like plex and windows homegroups and sends your media merrily on its way to chromecasty. Only the codecs that chromecast supports.... no decoding on the fly but most vids work from my library.

my destop is too old to work properly but 1 yr old laptop rocks along just dandy. From the lappy....wirelessly via the Pro...to the casty...life is good.

I found it, AND it looks/reads like it will cast the Local Media on the Hisense to the Chromecasty thingy DIRECTLY, in the description........ "Gonna have to get me one of these", yeah first drop in the Googly Bank.......

I still have yet to throw a Media card into it, looks like my camera will lose one this evening.........
So I take it your just Netflixing away with your rooted Hisense? If so, just run a few sets of RCA cables out the door and charge 'em......

Yep,.... banged a 64 giggy into it and rooted with CRM and loaded DoPa rom, then Link2sd app to move all the apps over to the SD so it runs 4 giggys free on the tab. Hola to get the good netflix on tab and the crap Kanadiun Netchits via chromey. Now anything I download from showbox can be flung to chromey on the tv or the 9' X 6' screen via the fantastic Brookstone hdmi projector

Seems I have read about infected flash drives and external hard drives. Also a common way of sending a virus by email is attaching it to an email attachment. Also any data file is useless until you open it with a program. Is it then not possible for a virus to jump on the opening program?

I may be uniformed and need instruction and I wait for that from the experts..

It is possible to infect graphic files, PDF files and MS Office documents but, as I said, it is very uncommon.
Infecting email data attachments are not common at all. Infected email attachments are small programs that mask themselves as data files.

Could someone please explain to me, why most websites I consulted during my probably ongoing "war on malware" were adamant in their suggestion to turn off Windows System Restore and not to attempt to use an earlier restore point to fix this mess?

Restore to an earlier point that you know is unaffected. Download Microsoft Security essentials (free) and do a full scan note quick scan picks very little up. Delete all the garbage it finds and away you go! Simple yes?
