I find rabbit has some taste (is that the concept of gamey) that I don't generally like.

Now rattlesnake does taste like chicken - well, how can you tell, they generally do things with it with sauces. But the Diablo Cafe in Torrey, Utah does a smashing Rattlesnake Cakes appetizer. But if you insist on chicken, their Pecan Chicken is great, too.

And if SOM keeps on digging he might accidentally stumble on it - it is in the middle of nowhere!

Rattle snake sounds a bit dangerous to hunt. To my knowledge a Partridge has never bit or poisoned anyone.
